Spruce Meadows Jumps into May
May 6, 2009
Calgary, AB --- The Spruce Meadows “May Classic II” Tournament is the first chance to see top show jumping take place outdoors in 2009. Calgary and area athletes will be entering the rings over the next four days to compete for over $70,000 in prize money.
While the best of Europe, Mexico and the United States make their travel plans to Calgary for the upcoming Summer Tour, regionally based athletes will be competing right here in top level competitions looking for an edge as we move into summer.
Competition will take place on the Rocky Mountain and North American Rings on courses designed by Werner Deeg, Chris Brandt and Peter Grant. The week’s feature competition, the $17,500 Scotia Bank Cup, will be held Sunday in the North American Ring and boast the best athletes of the week.
Parking and admission will be complimentary for the entire “May Classic II” Tournament. The tournament runs from Thursday May 7th to Sunday May 10th.
