A Spruce Meadows Weekend

June 27, 2008

Spruce Meadows, Calgary, Alberta --- Conditions have been perfect for the first two days of the Spruce Meadows “Canada One” Tournament. Athletes have been competing since Thursday in preparation for the weekend’s competitions at Spruce Meadows.

Among the world class athletes competing this weekend will be all of the members of the 2008 Canadian Olympic Team, as they continue their journey to Hong Kong. There will be no better opportunity for athletes to prepare for the Olympics as this weekend’s feature course designer, Leopoldo Palacios (VEN), will be the course designer for the 2008 Olympics games.

Saturday’s feature competition, the $50,000 RBC Cup, will be held on Meadows on the Green and is set to begin at 2:00 pm. The $50,000 Esso Challenge will be held Sunday and is the last competition before next week’s $1 million “North American” Tournament. The Esso Challenge will take place on Meadows on the Green and begin at 2:00 pm. Parking and admission are complimentary for the “Canada One” Tournament.

For results of Friday’s feature competitions, the 1.40 m WestJet Cup and the 1.40 m Duncan Ross Cup, please visit www.sprucemeadows.com.
